AICoP: Practical AI - Clear Prompts, Useful Context

November 21, 2025
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
America/New_York
Online Event

Emerging Technologies' AI: Community of Practice (AICoP) is a multidisciplinary gathering of curious minds, exploring the practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) at Columbia University. The community provides a platform for learning, discussion, and experimentation—helping to demystify AI, encourage exploration, and foster inclusive collaboration.

AICoP continues with a practical look at prompt and context engineering. Understanding of both will help you get reliable results from language models in research, teaching, and administration. The session will be led by Spencer Ames, Associate AI Analyst, and John P. Martin, Emerging Technologist, at CUIT Emerging Technologies.

Through clear examples and a live demo, we’ll cover beginner-to-intermediate use cases and show how to apply these techniques within Columbia’s trusted AI environments.
